Director of Public Works 

The Town of Oromocto is currently accepting resumes for the position of Director of Public Works until Wednesday, 6 May 2026.

As the "engine room" of our municipal operations, you will provide the strategic oversight necessary to maintain the Town's essential services, including Roads & Grounds, Water & Sewer, Parks & Sports Facilities, Building Maintenance, and our Fleet Garage.

The Director of Public Works is the strategic leader and administrative anchor for the Town of Oromocto’s infrastructure, ensuring a safe, functional, and resilient physical environment. Beyond technical oversight, the Director is the primary champion of a robust health and safety culture, instilling a "safety-first" identity that empowers field crews and prioritizes both physical and mental well-being in high-stakes, 24/7 environments.

As a vital bridge between municipal goals and the "boots on the ground" workforce, the Director fosters a professional and equitable workplace by balancing collective bargaining needs with fiscal realities. This role is central to personnel management, focusing on mentorship and succession planning to preserve institutional expertise.

Manager of Finance & Accounting

The Town of Oromocto is looking for a strategic, highly motivated, and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of Manager of Finance and Accounting within our Corporate Services Department. Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Manager is responsible for the direction and execution of activities related to the accurate and timely recording of all Town financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, established guidelines, Town policy, and sound business practices. Working with the team, the Manager is accountable for processing transactions, financial accounting and reporting, and overall financial operations and risk management of the Town.
 
This role exercises significant independent judgment, discretion, and professional authority in complex and sensitive financial matters, operating within Town policy, legislation, and strategic direction.

Municipal Engineering Technologist

This position supports the delivery of municipal engineering services through the planning, design, inspection, and management of infrastructure projects, with a focus on, transmission networks, treatment systems, and transportation infrastructure. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing feasibility studies, technical documentation, engineered drawings, cost estimates, monitoring project budgets, schedules and contract administration, and assisting with construction inspections. This role involves regular collaboration with the Director of Engineering, consultants, Public Works staff, contractors, and the public. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a municipal environment, including capital project cost estimation and budget management, along with strong knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems, treatment processes, and engineering service delivery practices.
