By-Laws

Authority

The Local Governance Act of New Brunswick authorizes the Town of Oromocto Council to establish services that are deemed to be expedient for the peace, order and good governance of the municipality and for promoting the health, safety and welfare of its residents.  The act also permits local governments to enact by-laws to carry out these services.   In order to do so, each by-law is validated once it is read three times by title and read in its entirety in a regular or special meeting of Council at least once prior to third reading by title.  It does not matter if the by-law is a new one, is being amended or is being repealed, the process each time is the same.

All Town by-laws are maintained by the Town Clerk's Office.  You may receive a copy of any one of these by-laws by contacting the Town Clerk’s office at (506) 357-4442, or by-laws can be viewed in PDF format as listed below.
