Technical Department
Technical Administration constitutes being responsible for technical matters and data as required for the administration and operation of the Technical Services Department of the Town of Oromocto.The Town Technical Officer is responsible for the proper execution of the policies set by Town Council and the enforcement of all laws accordingly. The Technical Officer is responsible for taking, or causing to be taken, or recommending to the Chief Administrative Officer, action necessary to protect the best interest and promote the welfare of the town.
Other Responsibilities of the Technical Officer include:
- Drafting, estimating and maintaining technical records.
- Security of all technical maps, books, equipment, documents and specifications held in the offices of the Technical Services Department.
- Maintaining plans for all water and sewer services within the Town
- Maintaining Town street plan

Maintaining a house numbering plan

- Maintaining copies of electric power, telephone line, Cable TV Distribution and Enbridge Gas Line plans for both pole line and underground systems.
- Maintaining plans of present bench marks indicating the geodetic elevations as has been established within the town.
- Maintaining the record of road construction, services and landscaping that have been carried out under contract for the Town and for future construction and major maintenance projects.
- Providing plans and specifications and detailed estimates as required for projects being submitted for tender call.
- Carrying out elementary survey of land to establish elevations, road center lines, curb line, etc., as required for construction purposes and not for inclusion in legal documents.
- Maintaining as-built plans of all Town owned buildings together with a copy of specifications on each building and estimated value of the building.
- Providing sketches and rough estimates for projects that are in the discussion stage and for which approval in principal is being sought.
