PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT
ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION
The Town of Oromocto Public Works Department is now accepting applications from individuals wishing to apply for entry-level employment.
Minimum qualifications for applicants are a valid driver’s license; demonstrated skills and knowledge in welding; and the ability to perform general labour work outdoors in all weather conditions.
Desired qualifications would be a valid Class 3E driver’s license; current Class ”B” Welders Certificate; and the mechanical aptitude skill and experience to operate equipment and vehicles used in a public works environment.
The Town of Oromocto pays wages and benefits in accordance with the union contract. Successful applications will be required to reside such that they can meet the current response time of thirty minutes to their place of work in the Town of Oromocto following the completion of a satisfactory probation period.
Only those individuals selected for an interview will be notified. Evaluations may include both a verbal and written interview as well as a practical assessment. Prior to final hiring, selected candidates will also be required to provide a current medical report.
