Municipal Offices

The elected Mayor and Town Council set the primary policies and direction for the Town of Oromocto. The Chief Administrative Officer/Clerk, however, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the municipality and works with senior staff to ensure Council’s policies are implemented.

In January 2005, the Town of Oromocto’s municipal offices were relocated to its current location at 4 Doyle Drive. This is the fourth Municipal Building in the Town’s short 50-year history. This new location is owned by the Town and is co-occupied by RCMP District 2 Operations and the Town’s Emergency Operations Centre. The renovation, completed by Springhill Construction, took approximately 10 months at a cost of approximately $1.9 million.

Designed by Goguen and Company, this architecturally distinctive building forms part of the Integrated Development Zone. This registered zone is home to the Oromocto Days Inn, a new condominimum complex, churches, RCMP, and is the future site of an office commercial and high density residential development.
