Mission Statement

The Mission of the Oromocto Fire Department is to provide a range of programs to protect the lives and property of the Citizens that we serve from the adverse effects of fires, and exposures to dangerous conditions created by either man or nature.

Welcome to the Oromocto Fire Department!

The men and women of the Oromocto Fire Department would like to welcome you to the department’s website. We hope that you enjoy your visit with us and get to know who we are and what we do. The department grew from a fully volunteer department in the late 50’s with the formation of Canadian Forces Base Gagetown. We currently have a composite (paid/volunteer) department, which is comprised of approximately 50 members in total and provide firefighting services to 25,000 residents within a response area of 400 square miles. We respond to the following areas:

*  Burton
*  Maugerville
*  Rusagonis
*  Sheffield
*  Lincoln

In addition to our primary areas of responsibility, the Oromocto Fire Department is a member department of a mutual aid agreement with other Capital District Fire Departments and will provide mutual aid upon request.
